ANISSA MENDIL - SEURA 2018 WINNER

New York, NY (November 11, 2018) – Séura is proud to introduce Anissa Mendil, principal at Mendil + Meyer Design Studio, as the winner of the 2018 Studio Series lighted mirror design competition. In its third year, Studio Series was opened to hospitality designers around the world, asking them to submit designs to be evaluated based on style, creativity, and manufacturability. Mendil’s winning design, “Mindfulness”, garnered the highest score in the competition and was revealed in Séura’s booth at the BDNY Fair 2018.

“Mindfulness” is one of the lighted mirrors in Mendil’s Aura Design Collection, which is now available for specification through Séura’s lighted mirror portfolio. The collection elegantly emulates the beauty of eastern art in six round mirror designs, four of which incorporate Séura’s proprietary +Color technology, accenting the etched design with subtle touches of color applied to the mirror glass.

"The inspiration for this collection comes from a traditional Mandala which is the connection between our inner world and our outer reality,” explained Mendil. “While a mirror reflects our physical appearance, it is our inner soul that is who we truly are." From the Sanskrit for "circle", the "mandala" is a powerful symbol that inspires thoughts of mindfulness and peaceful energy.

As the Studio Series winner, Anissa joined Séura at BDNY for the unveiling of her collection and also had an NEWH Student Scholarship donated in her name. This year’s Studio Series Scholarship winner is Kelsea Stickelmaier, Interior Design Major at Interior Designers Institute in Newport Beach, CA.

The Aura Design Collection is now available for specification and available in three standard sizes: 36”, 42”, and 46” diameters.
